Ellie has come home!

When this doe freshened, I rejoiced!  Then I sighed audibly...look at what got away!  This may well be one of the best udders on a Fire Flame daughter to date.

As is our custom of giving each of our grandkids a goat, Party Dress belongs to my Grandson Elijah. She was given the barn name of Eliana, but quickly became "Ellie". Although she's is a lovely doe who is seemingly quiet,  Ellie has had quite a few tricks up her sleeve. Our first surprise came when it was time to breed her and we turned her in with our sweet, yet "seasoned" buck, Augustine. Ellie promptly jumped on top of the small house adjacent to the hay manger, heartily screaming her extreme displeasure----non-stop. Not only did she seem completely adverse to the idea of "marriage" (the term we use around here, since there are 5 young grand-daughters around---at any given time!!!!). Augustine was equally unimpressed and didn't even stop munching on his hay. After thirty minutes with no change, everyone went to lunch. Upon returning, Ellie was still on the little house, still very vocal, and Augustine was still by the manger, eating. We promptly removed her with the notion of breeding on her next heat cycle....which never came. Our second surprise was two-fold: not only was Ellie indeed pregnant, but she freshened with quads---easily---four little red/white babies with beautiful blue eyes. Although she is an excellent mother---she was a First Freshener, so I watched closely to see how she could handle so many babies...leading me to our next surprise---Ellie's first Milk Test. She milked 5#....with ease. Lovely udder, great texture and large orifices.  To our amazement, Ellie earned her Milking Stars in both AGS and ADGA on her very first test. As you can see, by the results, not only did she earn an exceptionally high Overall Score (beating the 2012 AGS National #1 Winner), she may possibly be eligible for national status with her high BF (which explains her chubby babies).
