Sales Policy

Please read this thoroughly.  By entering into a sale, you agree to these terms.

Helmstead Miniature Goats is hereby referred to below as "HMG."

We reserve the right not to do business with anyone for any reason.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

No exceptions. No refunds or exchanges will be granted. No guarantees or warranties of any kind are expressed or implied. Once an animal leaves the care of HMG, HMG has no control over its well-being or treatment, therefore, after the animal leaves HMG's premises, it is the buyer's responsibility.

If requested, HMG will be happy to assist you in locating a new home through referrals, but that responsibility ultimately falls on the buyer.

 

PAYMENT INFO: Cash, money orders or credit cards (via PayPal) Sorry, we cannot accept personal checks.

 

RESERVING ANIMALS & DEPOSITS: All animals are sold on a first-come and first-pay basis. No animal will be held without HMG having received either the full payment or a deposit for the desired animal, whichever we have discussed with you.  For all goats, a minimum deposit of 50% of the total purchase price is required to hold the animal of your choice. This amount is non-refundable and non-transferable. If the animal(s) are not picked up on the agreed upon pick up date, a boarding fee of $2.00 per day will be incurred. After fourteen days for adult goats and seven days for kids, the animal will be placed back up for sale, and any deposit received will be forfeited.

Remember, nothing is considered "Sold" until the deposit has reached HMG.

In the event that something happens to the animal between deposit and departure, HMG will refund the deposit OR apply the deposit to another animal.

All buyers need to make arrangements to pick up their animals promptly. 

Delivery to shows HMG attends is free of charge, however there may be a fee for Health Certificate if required for the show.  Sorry, HMG does not offer delivery outside of previously scheduled trips.

 

REGISTRATION PAPERWORK:  All animals sold as registered stock will come with the applications for registration OR their original registration certificates and signed transfers.  It is the buyer's responsibility to keep these forms in a safe place and/or complete the animal's transfer promptly.  HMG will replace lost applications for $5.00 per application.  Where possible, this replacement will be completed online directly with the breed registries.  If online registration is not available (AGS), HMG will mail the application directly to the registry, billable to the buyer.  Buyer is responsible for all registration fees, payable before registration can be completed.

 

HEALTH PAPERS/SHIPPING: If you require a health certificate for your animal, we can have a vet make all necessary arrangements. All health certificates & related expenses are the responsibility of the buyer. It is the buyer's responsibility to check their home state's laws regarding the transport and import of livestock.

We ship out of the Indianapolis Airport, and recommend Delta Airlines. Crates, airline tickets, and transport fees are buyer’s responsibility.

 

GUARANTEE: All animals will be healthy at the time of sale. Because we cannot control the animals environment after it leaves HMG’s premise, there is no extended health guarantee.  Show quality animals will be free of disqualifying faults at the time of sale. We will replace any breeding stock sold who is deemed by a veterinarian to be genetically infertile.  Animal and/or animal’s registration paperwork must be returned to HMG once deemed infertile.

 

HMG cannot guarantee the show career or milk production of any animal.
