Helmstead Miniature Goats is hereby referred to below as "HMG."

No exceptions. No refunds or exchanges will be granted. No guarantees or warranties of any kind are expressed or implied. Once an animal leaves the care of HMG, HMG has no control over its well-being or treatment, therefore, after the animal leaves HMG's premises, it is the buyer's responsibility. 

In recent years, buyers haven't read or believed this part, above, so I've highlighted it.  I DO NOT SEND SICK ANIMALS TO NEW HOMES.  Yes, really, things can go terribly wrong terribly fast.  There will be no refund if you kill your new goat, not even if it's within 24 hours...this has been my policy since 2003.  If you don't like it, don't buy from me.  The flip side is you're not going to find a goat breeder happier to spend time helping you - I am always available for questions.

If requested, HMG will be happy to assist you in locating a new home through referrals, but that responsibility ultimately falls on the buyer.

RESERVING ANIMALS & DEPOSITS: All animals are sold on a first-come and first-pay basis. No animal will be held without HMG having received either the full payment or a deposit for the desired animal, whichever we have discussed with you.  For all goats, a minimum deposit of 50% of the total purchase price is required to hold the animal of your choice. This amount is non-refundable and non-transferable. If the animal(s) are not picked up on the agreed upon pick up date, a boarding fee of $3.00 per day will be incurred that must also be paid prior to or at the time of pick-up.

After fourteen days for adult goats and seven days for kids, the animal will be placed back up for sale, and any deposit received will be forfeited.

Remember, nothing is considered "Sold" until the deposit has reached HMG.

In the event that something happens to the animal between deposit and departure, HMG will refund the deposit OR apply the deposit to another animal.

All buyers need to make arrangements to pick up their animals promptly. Bottle kids will need to be picked up soon after they're deposited upon, dam raised kids will be more flexible.

Delivery to shows HMG attends is free of charge, however there may be a fee for Health Certificate if required for the show.  Delivery is also often available to Ocala, Dunnellon, Williston and The Villages free of charge.  Sorry, HMG does not offer long distance delivery as our family's schedule does not allow it.  There are MANY goat-friendly transporters these days and we highly recommend Nigerian Goat Express Transportation for your needs.  He's the best out there.  There are Facebook groups dedicated to goat transports, also, that can aide you in finding and scheduling transports.  Buyer's risk is imposed.

REGISTRATION PAPERWORK:  All animals sold as registered stock will come with the applications for registration OR their original registration certificates and signed transfers.  All doe kids will come with ADGA and AGS registration completed.  Papers in progress may have to be mailed to you once they're received here.

It is the buyer's responsibility to keep these forms in a safe place and/or complete the animal's transfer promptly.  HMG will replace lost applications for $5.00 per application and lost certificates (when not yet transfered) for $5.00 plus the registry's replacement fee.  Where possible, this replacement will be completed online directly with the breed registries.  In these cases, Buyer is responsible for all registration fees, payable before registration can be completed.

HEALTH PAPERS/SHIPPING: If you require a health certificate for your animal, we can have our vet make complete one. All health certificates & related expenses are the responsibility of the buyer. It is the buyer's responsibility to check their home state's laws regarding the transport and import of livestock and notify me if their state requires special testing.

Health Certificates are currently running $48.00 PER GOAT.  This is the actual cost of the certificate, we waive transport to the office.

We are willing to work with ground transporters within reason, please refer to delivery notes above.

We no longer offer air freight.

GUARANTEE: All animals will be healthy at the time of sale. Because we cannot control the animals environment after it leaves HMG’s premise, there is no extended health guarantee.  Show quality animals will be free of disqualifying faults at the time of sale.

HMG cannot guarantee the show career or milk production of any animal.
