As soon as Sister was born, she was retained. OK, maybe I waffled a little - I'm supposed to be keeping a hobby-sized herd now...but I didn't waffle long! This doe is gorgeous. Not only is she a unique color that we love to look at but she is built just how we have always tried to breed them. She's the picture of dairy strength. Her feet and legs are awesome, angles lovely, width all there and she's got the length we love to see - length that will hold up over the years with her nice strong loin and chine. So far, Sister has my facorite Mary daughter udder. It's globular, easy to milk and very well attached. She aborted her FF but milked through for me, which to me is exceptional. Her two following freshenings have been flawless. This doe can deliver unassisted and then milk for a full lactation with gusto. She's happy to rear kids OR go right onto the milking string. In 2024, I will be milking her from the start rather than allowing her to raise a kid. I need to find everyone's baseline. At time of this publish, she's milking 3.8 - 4 lbs a day.
